Personal Information
As of the end of 2007 I am still a raw in progress…
I decided to begin the journey of reclaiming my life and body from the grips of our SAD world in November ‘05.I know raw it is right for me because I feel so much better.I have an incredible husband, two awesome dogs [and a crazy cat (I am so sad to say, as of Oct 2007 MAC is on to his next life:( He had 10 incredible mousing years!!)]
My friend Megan loves my dogs and takes them often when I can not. My dogs love to ski, hike, run!-It is so fun to watch them go go go!!My favorite ‘uncook’ books are “The Un-Cook Book”; “Living on Live Foods” “Rawsome” “Conscious Eating”
My favorite raw restaurant is “Ecopolitan” in Minneapolis, MN.
I live in the beautiful Sierra Nevada Mts at Lake Tahoe, CA.
I struggle from moment to moment with food…not because I am in love with it but because I really don’t like it enough! My biggest problem is eating. I am overweight, but I really believe the only reason I retain weight is because I do not eat often enough. Alissa Cohen advises folks to eat and eat when the transition to raw foods. I would agree. I know the reason that I sit at a solid 180lbs at 5’8’ is that I wait until I am starving to eat and my blood sugar never normalizes. I grew up working in bars and restaurants. Long hours, cold leftovers and a sugar rush at the end of the night in the “after shifter: The thing that we all waited for. Well since I started that lifestyle at age 14 and it is now 30 years later, I have to remind myself it is literally a lifetime of bad habits to reform. I hope there are others of you out there that are on this road that I can join with! Peace
