Hi, I’m a mother of three wonderful kids. The picture on my profile is my youngest. I am an Italian/Ecuadorian raised in the states. I have been researching health for over ten years. But the blunt of my research didn’t start till about two years ago when I finally understood that “MEDICINE” is not health, nor does it promote it. The more I researched the closer it brought me to raw. After a year of dabbling with raw I decided to go raw. I’ve been mostly raw since August of 2006, and my children since that September. I say mostly because there are allot of “RAW” ingredients we eat that aren’t really raw. Such as; shelled nuts/seeds, oats, agave, etc. And when we have family gatherings we do eat lightly steamed veggies and lightly seared fish. But at home we eat all raw.
I wasn‚€™t a big ‚€œfood‚€ fan when I ate cooked food. The only things I truly enjoyed (being Italian) was bread, pasta, and cheese. My ex-husband called me a closet vegetarian because I hated meat I just ate it because I was told I would die if I didn‚€™t. I had to have huge amounts of seasonings in order to swallow it. But since going raw I have to say I really, really, really love to eat. Food is amazing! And what I enjoy the most is I don‚€™t feel half dead when I‚€™m done eating. I no longer need an ‚€œafter dinner nap‚€ or siesta as we call it!
We enjoy trying new uncomplicated recipes, and my kids love to experiment and make up their own. We eat mostly whole foods vs. processed concoctions, but we love trying anything new. Most of our diet consists of fruits, oats, and green smoothies.
We will be adding recipes soon, and hopefully you‚€™ll enjoy them as mush as we have.
