I am a raw teen at 17 who has been transitioning from vegan to raw vegan since I was 16 and a half but now I think I am ready to go 95% raw if not 100% (Considering I’m living in rainy Vancouver, Canada). Anyway, its really ironic that I am a raw vegan because of my background. I’m Persian. For those of you who are not familiar, Persians are known for thier meat dishes (shish-kabobs, korma, koufteh… almost every meal, traditionally, except breakfast I think, ideally has meat). In fact, many Persians believe it is nearly impossible to survive without meat!! lol, whenever my grandma tells guests about me and my diet, its so frustrating because they say to me, “Oh poor thing she doesn’t eat anything…” and they feel so sorry for me when I’m the one feeling sorry for them!!
Also, I am totally obsessed with health and nutrition. I am excited to be apart of goneraw to learn new facts and recipes and ideas, and perhaps to even share some of my own imagination and creativity!! I hope to have a career in the natural health care sector and to spread the knowledge of all the benefits of raw foods in the future. After all, life is so much better, cleaner, and energetic with a raw vegan diet!!
