My mom went raw some years ago and has been slowly pushing me towards it due to some health challenges that I have. One year for Christmas it was a dehydrator, another year some raw uncook books…okay I get the hint! Still the books and dehydrator mainly gathered dust. After a while I began to make a raw dessert every now and then or try some of the snacks in my books. I could tell I felt better when I ate raw and told myself that one day I’d go raw but was to addicted to processed food. I did a cleanse and the directions stated that you would see maximum results doing it with a juice fast. I’m all about results but I knew juice would not be enough for me so I made a lot of raw soups during those 8 days. The day that I was going to end my fast and go back to cooked food I looked at myself in the mirror and noticed that my eyes seemed blue-er and clear and that my skin looked better. 5 minutes later my partner said he noticed the same things without me telling him what I had noticed. I knew then I couldn’t go back to cooked food. So here I am figuring out a new, better way of eating.
