Hello everyone. We're thinking about making an iPhone app for Gone Raw. Basically, it would just be a way to browse some of the community's favorite recipes on your iPhone, whether you're on the Internet or far away. We would probably curate a selection of the best recipes, and perhaps update it with seasonal collections or menus.

However, we'd like your ideas, too. What would you like to see in an app? Are you more likely to look for an iPhone app or an iPad app? How do you think we should choose the recipes?

Due to the rather incredible amount of spam that the popularity of Gone Raw has attracted, we've changed how new memberships work.

When you sign up, you won't be able to start using your account, you'll have to wait for approval. It may take a while, depending on how quickly we can handle that, but you'll also get an email of ours that you can write to, if you feel you've gotten stuck.

This doesn't affect current memberships, although please do be aware of our request that you not post recipes that are purely spam or without good content. Thank you!

Just to let everyone know - if you notice anything odd today, it's me upgrading the software running this website. Should only take me a couple of hours today, and then everything should be back to normal.

So if you haven't noticed already, my "hand was forced" and we have a new "look" to the website. Doh!!!

I apologize for no warning or preparation, but here we are. There was a technical glitch, and it turns out it was easier for me to just go with the flow and roll out the new look, even though it's not quite finished yet. So have a look around, and let us know what you think. There are a lot of rough edges, and many parts aren't even there yet, but it's a start!

We'd love to hear what you think, and we'll be working hard as time permits to get it cleaned up.

With the coming of the New Year, we've decided it was time to bring a little love to some of our projects, Gone Raw being first and foremost among them! You'll find we've already got one of our goals accomplished today - to make the website faster. You should notice a little bit of a faster experience browsing Gone Raw as of today. But that's just the very beginning.

Over the next few weeks, we have a number of ambitious goals in mind for Gone Raw. These include a refresh to the look and feel of the website, adding some long-requested features, and moving to a different web hosting company to make things even faster. We still have to find the time for these goals, but we'll get there. When we're ready for an update, we'll make sure there's a prominent notice on the home page, so be on the lookout for that.
