B Vitamins

I have a canker sore on the end of my tongue and I was looking at the causes for it online and the said it may be a vitamin deficiancy, especially B.

I eat a lot of raw food, so I stopped worrying about getting the vitamins I need. Could this of caused it? When vegan, they always told you to get your B vitamins as much as possible, is it the same with being raw?

  • I have the same thing and I’m not 100% raw so I don’t think it’s a b vitamin problem. I have been eating a lot more fruit lately and I think it’s because of that including tomatoes. A lot more acidic foods. Vinegar makes my tongue burn too. Have you increased your intake of these food lately? If not it could be candida related. In either case you are recommended to eat fewer fruits. I ate an avocado today and it seemed to help it. Avo has b vitamins and vit. E. Try it!If yoou’re not eating them already- up your pumpkin seed, and buckwheat intake they are great too. I am making crackers out of these two ingredients now.

  • I have been eating the same amount of fruits since gong raw (2 months ago) less even, maybe.

I have added vinegar to my diet recently. I also have been stressed about life issues.

Thanks to both of you for your help!

  • jkd_soccer801 I had the same sore!!! I had it for about a week and a half, very painful! I thought mine was detox from a slip up memorial weekend – I ate potato salad and had several glasses of wine – won’t being doing that again!

My sore would not go away, no matter what I did. It hurt every time I ate something, so, I decided to stop eating! I didn’t do a fast but I just reduced my food intake, especially in the morning and stopped eating any acidic foods that would burn my tounge. I’ve eaten tons of avocados and spinach in the past few days and that has seemed to help too. Now my sore is gone, yay! I couldn’t tell you exactly what helped but either way, it is detox and it will probably go away on it’s own. I know it is painful and annoying but hang in there! It will be gone before you know it!

Like I said, I would take out all acidic foods (fruits, vinegar, lemons, limes – anything that stings or burns your tounge when you eat it) until the sore is gone.

  • Its funny cause thats almost all my food! Well not all. But the more tasty foods have all those in it haha :)

I had a big thing of chips and salsa over the weekend(its my comfort food, go fig), so I think thats that its from.

  • alpdesignsalpdesigns Raw Newbie

RawVee, these are all in Dr. Schulze’s Superfood. I don’t know if it’s raw, but I’ve been drinking it off and on for three years. It seems like a good way to get a multi-vitamin that is bioavailable. A person can have an unbalanced diet even when eating raw. This is my safety net.
