Dehydrating Flax Crackers

Hi! I am new to this forum. I’ve just begun exploring the addition of raw foods to my gluten free diet. Tonight, I tried making flax seed crackers with a dehydrator. I have an older one made by Ronco. It has a tower of about 6 round trays with a heating element in the stationary bottom unit. Each tray has a hole in the center, about 3 inches in diameter. Because I didn’t have teflex mats (which I noticed were suggested by several different people at different websites), I used what I hope was the next best thing – parchment paper. I just cut it into a round shape to fit the trays, and also cut a hole in the center of each piece. Then I spread the flax seed mixture onto the parchment paper.

I’m wondering if anyone has any thoughts about this. Do you think the parchment paper will prevent the crackers from sufficiently drying out? Of course, I’ll see in the morning!!! Is there anything special I need to do? It’s almost 11 PM and I thought I’d leave it overnight. When I wake in the morning, I’ll rotate and turn the trays.

I think they’ll be fine, just flip them over once the upside is dry.
