hm, honestly, i got mine both used and am so happy with both of them. $5 each on craigslist. i think if i spent a lot of money maybe i would regret it… if you don’t mind spending a lot of money i think excaliber is the dehydrator to buy… as for juicers, i’m not sure what is the best but i have a juiceman that i am pretty satisfied with, a little hard to clean up, though.

  • I would suggest you get yours used, especially when buying the more expensive appliances like dehydrator, juicer, blender (if you go for a high quality one). I have an excalibur, and it works perfectly. Very easy to clean = low maintenance.

As for the juicer, I can tell you what NOT to get! Haha, I have a Jack Lalanne juicer, its alot of work to clean (as are most juicers), and doesn’t go a good job at juicing greens. :o(

Here’s a random idea, if you’re also looking into buying a blender, you should get a vitamix, blend your smoothies and then put them through a cheesecloth to get a juice. This way you get more out of one appliance.

Ok, I’m just rattling on now, hopefully someone else could give you some more helpful suggestions!
