Detox is the cleansing of the body from toxins. It entails a healing/detox reaction that is different for everyone. Sometimes it’s a rash and other times it could be sinus headaches or depression. Depending on what toxins or how many you have, there could be several symptoms at a time as your body tries to expel the offenders. Eating a raw diet allows your detox organs (liver, kidneys…) to function optimally because of the nutrients suddenly available to them. This causes the detox reaction.
that makes sense! im doing a slow transition, due to many factors, including work schedule, budget, etc…so in phasing these things out slowly i may not be getting as bad of a detox as most. also since i have already been vegan for so long, im pretty sure my toxins are fairly low.

I think transition over time is the way to go. There isn’t any reason to clog the system by causing more toxins to build up than can’t be eliminated quickly. I kind of learned that the hard way.
