Do you Vaccinate your vegan kids?

We don't. Our kids are 3 and soon to be 2 and perfectly healthy thank God. We have done lots of research and everyday are more confident and glad we don't vaccinate them. I just want to see if all vegan people think about the same or not. Thanks for reading.

I can't wait to read this thread. I don't have kids yet, but know of a couple that doesn't vaccinate their kids (not vegan though). But I recently heard something on NPR about new vaccinations for middle school kids and how the vaccines are required to attend school. I wonder if there is a way around that or if those people not vaccinating their kids are homeschooling too.

caleb - i am sure there is a way around it because even when i was in college a few years ago and they tried to get me to get a vaccine i just signed something saying it's against my spiritual/religious beliefs or something.

My mother is strongly against vaccinations and she has had to lie my entire life, saying we had religious beliefs or that I've already been vaccinated.

I do'nt have any but I know folks who do and don't vaccinate. I will not vaccinate. I can't believe injecting that **** into your kids is considered "normal" and not doing so is considered "dangerous." How backwards people's thinking is!!!

I dont believe in vaccinating either. Ive had a lot of friends buy into that whole HPV vaccine bs-- every single one of them who did it got very ill. One girl had to go to the hospital. Such a LIE!!

I have 3 kids and one on the way... my oldest is 15 and fully vaccinated. For some vaccines he has even had double and triple because we moved and lost records, and in general just didn't know any better! My second is 5 1/2 and has had partial vaccinations. I delayed them, and chose not to have her get some. I kept others due to the fact that I had intended on going back to work with "at risk" populations that could possibly carry some diseases. Again, for my knowledge at the time, I believe I couldn't have done any better. My third is almost a year old, and never even been to the doctor, so no vaccinations. I feel very confident in this decision, and we won't be getting vaccinations for our baby due in February either.

As far as schools and exemptions go, there is a great website: www.vaclib.org that will give you all the requirements for each state (they are all different), and also the best way to waive vaccinations for each state. I have waived any further vaccines for my two older ones without problem. We live in AZ.

We have two kiddos age 4 and 2 and our oldest had one shot of the 10 required for DTP (diptheria, tetanus, and perstussis) and our youngest has had none. Our oldest after one shot within 24 hours was banging her head against the wall to relieve the swelling at the base of the brain which is supposedly a normal reaction. After getting her chiropractic adjustments and much natural homeopathic remedies she was fine but we will never again take that risk. We did not want to vaccinate but were pressured by a naturopathic doctor who purported how clean her vaccines were and that our unborn child would be at risk if our toddler brought any of these illnesses home (I was pregnant with my two year old at the time) a naturopath can you believe that crap? Now even the american academy of pediatrics is saying that that particular vaccine has a high reaction rate and might pull it.

So we are big proponets of not doing it and have actually done tons of research and found you can do homeopathic vaccines for tetanus and other things if you feel it is necessary . I have heard such things as your risking your kids life and mine by not vaccinizing and the truth of the matter is a vaccine does not fully protect you and is a bigger risk since they put aluminum in there (they did kindly take the mercury out)

Is amazing how we(the world)is been brainwashed about vaccines. My first son i vaccinate him til he was 6 months(always had an ear infection, flu simptoms, fevers, etc)then all that stop when he turn 1 yr after i started beleiving my husband. My daughter never got vaccinate since she was born and is as healthy as can be.

Yes,you can say you choose not to vaccinate because of religious beleive. We are planning on homeschooling.

The government wants us all vaccinated . They lie & lie & say it is safe, but it is not. Then the ones who get sick have to get meds for those syptoms. It is all a multi trillion dollar industry of sickness & death.

    There is a list of soooo many deaths & sicknesses/diseases that were all related to the vaccines;

for instance: lupos, adhd, luekemia & the list goes on & on.

If anyone wants to be enlightened to what is really going on, please & I beg you to please check out Alex Jones on infowars.com. Everyday he has a live podcast/internet radio from 11am-3pm central time & if your on the East Coast it's from 12p-4p...

Listen to him with an open mind & set yourselves free from slavery of the mind.

These past few days he has been talking about the swine flu vaccine. Check it out.

Another thing. My husband did my residence thru immigration(i'm from Dominican republic) and one of the requirements they have was to get vaccine. At that time i didn't know any better and got at the same time ********5********* shots,3 in one arm and2 in the other one. I swear i got such a bad reaction to it i almost die. I was in bed for4 days, the pain i got in my body was worst than giving birth, the fever was 105. and all that because the vaccines. Right after i got diagnose with hypothyroidism(and have 2 nodules on my thyroids).

I'm 1,000,000 it was the vaccines that mess up my thyroids. I was soo healthy, never got an illness or disiease til this. Now i'm on medications for it(and i HATE myself for taking them) but i will til i can afford to go to a naturopath that can treat me with an alternative medicine. I have try natural things but this thyroid drama is something complicated. Thanks for reading and God Bless!!

I have three kids...daughter 10 yrs, son 3 yrs, and new son 9 months....they've never had any immunizations, nor will they =), The only one I have fought with myself about is for tetanus, and ultimately decided not to do it, plus there are other methods if something were to happen that are much better than a tetanus shot. I have been doing continuous research on this for over 10 years, since I was pregnant with my first. The more I read, the more convinced I am that I have chosen the right way! And, omgosh!!!!! can I just say what a relief it is to find like-minded parents and others that feel the same way on this topic!! I'm so used to being harassed and degraded (well they try, I just don't let it bother me anymore) and the herd theory and the only reason my kids are alive are because their kids are immunized and protecting my kids! Ughhhhh!! I even had one lady tell her kids they weren't allowed to play with mine because they weren't vax'd...ummm...if vaccines do their job and work the way they are supposed to what in the heck are you so worried about?? Lol, sorry, this kinda turned into a rant, when it was really a big breath of fresh air to find others that feel this way!

I grew up in a vegetarian family, and was never vaccinated. I'm very glad for it, and even if it means never traveling internationally, I'm not going to inject myself with that garbage now.

  • I did get the flu shot one year, and ended up getting sick a few days anyways. So, as far as flu shots each year- no. I don't believe the benefits outweigh the side affects for me.

I do believe that vaccines are way over done these days (makes companies money?). That said, I do think they have served a very important function in public health by making small pox and polio something I don't have to worry about my daughter dying from. So, I do think that the benefits outweigh the risks for very serious illnesses. Though I think eating healthy food makes me stronger, some illnesses do take down the young and healthy of body. (Being vegetarian, vegan or raw, imho doesn't make us invinsible.)

But, as with any medicine we put in our bodies, there are risks or complications. Some people DO have bad reactions to vaccines (sometimes deadly ones).

Lots of people also died from very serious diseases before there where vaccines.

I had my daughter (10 now) given all the routine vaccines. She's fine, and if I have another child I would do the same.

I highly doubt any of us will be getting the swine flu vaccine though.

    It's a judgement call I guess.

  • We moved to France from the UK 4 years ago and were horrified to discover that vaccinations are compulsory for school children here.

We've had an awful battle trying to avoid them - the authorities did everything they could to make our lives hard (not accepting our medical certificates showing contra-indications for one reason, we corrected and they threw us another reason, etc). We're now at the stage of having presented legal medical certificates but they've now decided to challenge the basis on which the contra-indications were mentioned instead of the certificate itself.

10 years ago, I really wasn't sure about vaccinations; I felt that they didn't seem quite right but didn't know why. After seeing my very gentle homeopath's raging reaction to my suggestion that I may get my first child vaccinated I decided to find out more about them. I've now reached a level of understanding where I realise that:

    1. We are born with most of the bacteria that causes most childhood illnesses, in fact we need this gram-negative bacteria (in a 20:80 ratio to gram positive "good" bacteria). We get ill if our internal balance is thrown out by poor diet, stress, external or internal toxins and genetically inherited cell weakness through years of poor nutrition.

    2. Feed the terrain and the body will fight the invaders with no external assistance - ie good diet, etc, healthy body

    3. Inject and you introduce alien substances that our bodies were not designed to handle. These contribute to a whole range of awful and milder symptoms - eg heavy metal toxicity/autism/leaky gut/ etc plus completely lower the immune system and depress the emotional and biological flow. Look at unvaccinated children -they are so much happier than vaccinated children.

    4. The myth that vaccines are necessary is that, promoted by drug companies who see it as one of the best ways of perpertuating ill-health and therefore maintaining their huge profits. There is so much fear that has been so succesfully promoted by these organisations (who feed the governments and so effectively control the law making processes in their favour). The general public still believe that if they are not vaccinated they might get ill and die. Hopefully these swine flu lies will help raise awareness that will start more people questioning the validity of vaccinations and a wake up call showing just how much the governments are in the pockets of the pharmaceutical companies (amongst other powerful corporates)

Never ever vaccinate - use good diet and a whole range of effective and safe alternatives to help heal (eg colloidal silver taken without salt, MMS is supposed to be good, and I use belladonna 9c to bring down a temperature and aconite for a croupy cough or beginning of a cold)

    Rant over! Hope this helps!

    Perfectly said Sarah Diggins!!

  • I was vaccinated. I never had any negative reactions other than pain at the event and getting a little sick afterward. I don't see any harm in protection against harmful diseases. Even healthy people get sick sometimes; I'd rather know that I'm far less likely to get tetanus because I was vaccinated than find out later that I'm not quite as disease-proof as I thought I was.

    malschumom,

I LOVE YOU. this is my favorite site, www.cuttingedge.org ...if you sign up for the (free) newsletter you get updates of what events really mean. It is from a biblical perspective, but not pushy, and is very interesting what "they" are truly trying to do. If I had to do it over I wouldn't give my kids vaccinations. They are 27 & 28, and think I am nuts. funny, they live in San Francisco, are liberal, but just don't get how I eat and my reason for my trust issues with the government. Don't know what I am going to do when they show up at my door with a rifle and insist I get the swine flu vaccination or take me to one of their fema camps. the odds of coming out alive of either of them are pretty nil.

missemy,((HUGS))thanks for telling me about the site,i will ck it and follow it.

Sarah Diggins: We started givingf the kids Colloidal Silver. Last night my son had a temperature of 101.5 and stuffy nose. I gave him a spoon at midnight and this morning fever and symptoms are gone! wow! it works wonders!! =-)

See this one of many stories about vaccine related deaths.

so sad, this i don't want for my kids!!!

I had my first son who is 10 vaccinated with about 3 of the shots. I used to go to the doctor and have my mom hold him as I always felt so ill because it never felt right. After the 3rd one I took him in healthy and happy and that night he was up all night screaming with a fever. I decided right then and there we were done with shots, it seemed so wrong to make a healthy kid sick to try to keep him healthy. My second son who is 7 has had none. They are rarely sick and have NEVER had to go on antibiotics or anything serious. They are very healthy.

  • Currently, we are delaying and selectively vaccinating. The really important one for us was dtap because whooping cough(pertussis) is on the rise and it nearly killed my half-brother when he was two. The rest we are omitting, but keeping an open mind about in case we change our minds later. Also, we plan on traveling to the Philippines when my daughter gets older and we will need to consider certain vaccinations if we want to bring her. Both my husband's sister and my nephew have had bad allergic reactions to vaccines so we prefer not to give most of them.

It's amazing how people automatically shove many toxic chemicals into their newborns and don't hesitate to take the newest flu vaccine even though they haven't been extensively tested. However, some vaccines still have a place in society. For example, I was bitten by a wild animal at a rehab center. I needed a tetanus shot for the exposure. If I had wanted to work with rabies vector species(bats, raccoons, foxes, wolves,) I would have needed a rabies shot. But these are things that kids usually don't have to worry about and are only given when there is a known exposure.

  • I don't have any kids, but I don't think I'd get them vaccinated. There are so many chemicals in those things!! It seems so odd that we dilute the things that make us sick, and shove them into our bodies in hopes that it'll prevent us from getting the very thing we're injecting. Doesn't make any sense to me. I was fully vaccinated when I was little had DTP and all of that... now, at 19, I've gone through more health problems than people twice my age. Even getting the DTP, I still ended up with Whooping Cough (which I've been battling for 2 months now.... ugh) don't even get me started on the flu shot and Gardasil...

  • I'm on the fence about vaccinations. I do not know anyone personally who has had any adverse effects from vaccinations.

I choose to avoid vaccines whenever possible. Like the flu vaccine, for example. I really don't understand what is so scary about the flu. Also, the flu vaccine is only 30% effective for the people who could benefit most from it; the elderly (Aging Clin Exp Res. 2009 Jun;21(3):201-9) . Not to mention, it is also noted that improved diet increases the effectiveness of the vaccine. Ahem, increased diet reduces your chances of getting the flu in the first place!

I will say this though, if I had a serious illness, like AIDS, and they developed a vaccine for it...I would probably take it!

There is a really great "This American Life" episode which covers this issue. http://www.thisamericanlife.org/Radio_Episode.aspx?sched=1275

It's nice to know to have a lot of people are against vaccines. I hope that I get to find someone here (where I live, the Philippines) who are against vaccinations as well.

Growing up, I remember getting flu shots every year. Flu is almost always around in this country, most especially during rainy seasons, then the weather will suddenly change. Yes, that's where you'll hear plenty of people coughing, sneezing, etc. Then one day, three to four years ago, I got the measles even I had the shot, I had the flu even we get the yearly shot, then I wonder why, I thought I will be immune, but no. I did plenty of research. Found out that not only some of the ingredients aren't vegan, there are plenty of awful ingredients in there too. Then I began to be against it. Plus, who gives someone who has side effects in it?

So in the future, when I have kids, I will not vaccinate them.

It's hard when you're the only person who's against it.

We firmly believe in the health benefits of a vegan lifestyle, which aligns with our decision not to vaccinate our child. We see it as a way of trusting in the natural resilience of the human body, just like many wild animals who live without vaccinations for extended periods. We find inspiration in the balance that Mother Nature has created, providing us with the essential tools for survival and a healthy life.
