Does BPA accumulate? [Retainer: Metal vs Plastic]

germin8germin8 Raw Master

My retainer of 15 years broke (it's been that long since my braces were off)... and now I have a choice between the same metal retainer (probably stainless) or copolyester (probably BPA).

I am wondering if BPA accumulates in the body and if it can be removed.

Or can toxins from copolyester be removed easily?

If I choose plastic, I only have to wear it at night... (less toxins if they don't accumulate)... whereas the metal retainer is permanent (i.e. I won't be able to take it off myself.) But at least with metal, I think cilantro & chlorella, plus a good diet/cleanse will help remove metals - right?

BPA levels can accumualte and the more the brace breaks down from regular use the more it will leach into you. But double check the copolyester b/c sometimes it is BPA free. The new vitamix containter is Tritan brand Copylester container and is BPA free it might depend on brand and maufacturing as to whether or not they use it.

Personally if it is BPA free I would go plastic b/c I found a stainless tongue ring to change the flavor of foods so I took it out completely and would it not be more comfortable to be able to remove it?

    Good Luck

I will double check with my dentist. I think only dentists can get such info.

Oddly, my sweet tooth has disappeared since my metal retainer came off. Coincidence? I'm not sure... yet. :o)
