That’s hilarious! I have always heard it makes women and men more fertile than before. My guess is that your doctor thought “Uh oh! not enough food=no periods = no fertility”. Doctors only recieve at most 6- 12 hours of training in nutrition during their 6 or 7 year training. I know this because both my dad and my brother are doctors. And they have learned about basic nutrition from me!!

For me the opposite was true, when I went 100% I got a regular menstrual cycle for the first time in my life. Instead of one per year which was normal for me up till I went raw, despite being vegan all my adult life, doing yoga, gym training and various holistic therapies…

Check out Jinjee on www.thegardendiet.com just had her 5th raw pregnancy and baby.

  • That is really funny.. or sad depending how you look at it. I was about 80% raw when I got pregnant 9 1/2 months ago, I’ve gone up and down the raw scale during this pregnancy and except for a few small problems (nothing that was related to foods) I have been really healthy and so is the baby.

This may shock some people but doctors (and I’ll even go so far as to say OBGYNs) will purposely and maliciously LIE to a woman. When I was living in the US I worked for one of the top hospitals in Cali. studying for my LVN degree.. I really felt bad for some of the women who’d come in and be straight-faced lied to about all kinds of things, and usually because the doctor wanted to force them to do things that the doctor wanted.

Like Zoe said about 90% of all western doctors don’t study nutrition more than a month (at most) and they definately don’t study the benefits of a raw lifestyle. Infact most Dr.s will say whatever they can to get you off a raw diet (cause let’s face it they know you’re makeing yourself healthy and you won’t need them so they’re going to lose business.. they’ll make up all kinds of junk B.S. just to keep you feeling like you need them)

Being raw before and during pregnancy is the BEST thing you can do for you and the baby. It not only makes your pregnancy easier and healthier, but it gives your baby the best possible start to a health-filled life. My suggestion is just to ignore what the SAD diet OB says and stick to what you know and feel is right, remember they may be advising you something that is not in your best interests but theirs…. Good luck! K-Mom
