Energy Soup - With a BITE!

Hey everyone. I am a huge fan of energy soup for several reasons... it totally clears my complexion in a short time (when I deviate and eat more nuts/seeds the opposite happens). The only problem? The taste sometimes makes me go 'ick' after about a 2/3 of the bowl. I tried something different today and was pleasantly surprised by the results. The ingredients:

1/2 Cucumber

1/4 cup of sprout (I used broccoli)

2 leaves of romaine lettuce

Big handful of greens (I used kale and spinach)

1/2 Avocado

1/2 cup of distilled/remineralized water

The Juice of one lemon

A sliver of jalapeno pepper (more or less depending on how hot you can take it, but it is a key ingredient w/ the lemon juice)

That's it! I ate the whole bowl and wanted more! I hope it helps anyone else who enjoys the benefits but struggles w/ the taste (especially those of us who are simple carb. sensitive). Oh, and if you want some added crunch you can always grind up sweet potato and add to the soup; it's a nice addition also!

EDIT: Forgot one key ingredient - small handful of parsley -key in how it tastes w/ the lemon.

  • what recipe were you using previously? this sounds a lot like the one i use (radish_man's on this site) except it uses rejuvelac and adds zucchini and apple. the lemon is a good idea, though. i'm surprised i didn't think of that - the green taste grosses me out after a while.
