Feeling awful after first day.

I just started the raw diet today. I have gone from reg. foods. I was ok through the day, but tonight I got the worst headache. I have also been peeing all day and everything I eat seems to go straight through me. I just felt like I had to had something more to eat tonight also. Is this normal.

    Hmmmmmmm I don’t know. If it’s only been one day I’m not sure if it could be a ‘detox’ thing.
    I mean LindsayLove, maybe you do have a headache from caffeine withdrawal as stRAWberry stated,
    But I would think it would take more than a day for other symptoms.

    If you are going through caffeine withdrawal—drink a lot of pure water to reduce dehydration. And if you can get your hands on some raw cacao – that would probably help ease the headache – since it contains caffeine.

    But whatever the reason you don’t feel good – I hope you feel well soon.

  • Definitely normal. Caffeine withdrawal can kick in immediately – even within a few hours of not getting your normal source. I speak from experience – I drink coffee in the AM (I know its not raw, but I’m okay with that), and if I don’t drink it relatively soon, I do get a headache. During my first week raw, I swear I peed every 30 minutes because of the high water content of food plus all the water I was drinking. As stRAWberry said, it does pass, thank goodness. I was also RAVENOUS my first week – I was seriously eating constantly. That also passes, and you will settle into a routine. Give it about a week for the headaches, peeing, and eating to fade. :-)

    Just hang in there! It is probably caffeine withdrawal. I had the worst headache for 3-4 days.I cheated and took a motrin, becuase my family and even employees couldn’t take it anymore, I was so irratable. Try to ride it out. Being hungry is also normal. In a week you’ll feel much much better!

    Have lots of green smoothies, eating greens, especially when they’re in liquid form really helps you to balance and feel OK. You will feel better raw than you did when cooked, honest! Just keep going :)

  • you’re also likely getting way more fiber and water than your body might be used to, thus the digestive upset. it’ll settle down soon. best of luck!

  • I’m feelin’ ya, LindsayLove! I am not totally raw, yet, but have been high raw for a relatively short while. All I can say is buckle up and enjoy the ride!!! LOL!
