Finished My First Week!

Well I finished my first week eating mostly raw and I did pretty good. I didn't even crave cooked foods for the most part until the end of the week. The only cooked food I ate was 2 to 4 piece of 12 grain bread (which was delicious) and I ate some ice cream on Saturday. My meals consisted of salads (which I thoroughly enjoyed), fruit, and nuts. The first couple of days I didn't eat any nuts and I felt a little weird. So, the next few days I added some nuts and I felt better. I found that I get hungry pretty quickly but because I bought so much fruit & veggies I could easily grab something. I figured out about the middle of the week that washing everything at one time saves a lot of time when preparing meals. I am expecting my Healthmaster blender today so I'm looking forward to my first green smoothie. It feels good to be eating food that is good for me. I'm proud of myself because my goal for the week was to eat mostly raw and I did that. This week I have the same goal and I'll be using my blender to make smoothies (mmmmm)

I'm still excited about my decision to eat mostly raw and even though life is still a struggle (because I weigh over 400 pounds), I'm looking forward to the day when I can live a normal life and be active and healthy. I really believe that eating healthy is the only way to be healthy.

Congrats Janiece! That's a great start and you'll really start to feel the benefits if you carry on in this way.

Once you start down the raw path, you'll always remember how good it makes you feel so even if you slip up (and everyone does) or have bad days/weeks, you'll always feel the pull back to raw.

Being able to make your own smoothies is wonderful and I'd recommend getting into green smoothies. There are tons of great recipes and idea on this site if you're not sure what to try.

    Good luck to you!

Congratulations on your success. You are doing great and the best is yet to come. It is often much harder in the beginning, and it seems like you are off to a good start. :)

    Best wishes!
