Heartburn

Since I began my raw diet, I have had a lot of heartburn. Does anyone know of any natural items that will decrease this sensation?

  • I’ve also been getting heartburn pretty frequently, especially while working out. Not sure where it’s coming from but I want to know! Are there certain raw foods that can cause heartburn or no??

  • Sometimes tomatoes cause it for me. Ginger might help. I am sensitive to onions and garlic as well – they are energy toxins for me and will sometimes give me heartburn, though garlic works as a digestive aid for other people.

    Maybe if you keep a diary and try monomeals you can find out if it is a food or a combo?

  • With me, it was just time. I had GERD before going raw a month a go and it took about two and a half weeks before it stopped. Now I’m not having any problems.

    I used to have occasional heartburn, but now haven’t had it once while raw. I think the main thing that caused it was very acidic fruits mixed with too much sugar.

    Whenever I get heartburn, which is seldom since high raw, I take a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar (very tart) straight away and it is gone in a few minutes. Once I had to take a second dose. I understands this works for most people.

  • You can chew on a piece of ginger- like gum. Works for me every time.
