Hello! and a penny for your thoughts...

hi guys! so ive been watching and learning from this site for about 3 weeks and i love it! i wanted to say thank you to everyone for their comments, recipes, ideas... its helped me no end on my transition to raw, ive been eating raw for two and a half weeks and i feel fab!, before this ive always had an unhealthy relationship with food but now i can really feel a change in my attitude, im actually enjoying eating! i love knowing that what im eating is good for me and i love the fact that there are no more cryptic labels on my food to puzzle over!  i do have a bit of a dilemma though, i would love to hear your guys thoughts on the subject. organic vs non-organic i mean there is no competition really- but im living on a very limited budget and i simply cant afford to buy ALL organic (i would say half of what i buy isnt organic)

does anyone else have this problem?, for want of better words, is it bad (unhealthy) ?

Hi Oki, Check out the 'Dirty Dozen' list which you can download at http://www.foodnews.org/walletguide.php.

Its great if you're on a budget. Good luck!

  • in any case, it's much better to be eating enough and raw/non-organic than not eating enough and being all raw, or eating enough and settling for things that aren't raw. just be careful about exactly what you're buying that is or isn't raw. for example, strawberries and peaches absorb more pesticides than almost any other fruits, so they're a lot worse to buy non-organic as opposed to something like bananas.

Extremely helpful!!!! thank you both!!!! I am so shocked at how people can actually be poisoning themselves while thinking they are doing something good for their bodies! Its disgusting!

I'm happy I can now make an informed choice.
