How to tell if buckwheat is bad

sarawsaraw Raw Newbie

I found some buckwheat in the back of my cabinet. I don't know how long it has been in there. I went ahead, and soaked them, and made some biscuits with it.

I haven't eaten the raw buckwheat in several months. I can't remember what it's supposed to taste like. So, they are slightly bitter. Is the buckwheat supposed to taste like that? I added some ground flax, cinnamon, dates and agave syrup to the mix as well.

yeah, it is probably borderline. if you are eating it... i guess it's ok. it's like milk, you won't want to consume it if it's actually bad. since you sprouted the buckwheat you will smell it if it gets any worse, probably by the next day.

i don't leave it out to sprout too long when the weather is too hot because i did notice one time that it went bad... but you can tell just like most raw foods, by the smell or taste.
