Im not fond of synthetic vitamins myself, a few studies have shown that synthetic vitamins are actually do more harm than good.
Although there are many supplements b12 etc, herbs, and combination supplements which have been proven to be beneficial.
To note though b12 deficiency can take years to occur due to the liver holding sufficient stores.
Seems there's a lot of evidence pointing to the opposite.

Well i cant speak for Bitt, but one being a vegan a b12 supplement is essential. I see your post that for 3 and 1/2 years your b12 levels are fine. It can take anything up to 6 years to use up your b12 stores.
I recently watched a documentary dealing with a man trying to fight the natural aging process by starting a new extreme daily cardio routine. He also began watching his diet (can't remember any specific plan other than eating healthier than he had been) and following some anti-aging dr.'s regimen that included human growth hormone shots.

Seriously though, too MANY vitamins CAN cause probs, but vitamin deficiencies can cause probs as well.
Of course, in a perfect world we wouldn't need to take supplements - but this isn't a perfect world and I am not going to risk deficiencies. I recently found out I'm very low in vit D and I live in northern England. I don't have the luxury of being able to sit in the sun for 20 mins every day.
I supplement B12, iodine, vit D and sometimes iron. I have weighed everything up and do what I think is best. Everyone has to make their own decisions in the end.
Watch the iron supplementation SV3 unless your low in iron. The body naturally withholds excess iron from cancer cells. Good idea on supplementing with the iodine, b12, vitamin D etc there some of the hard ones to get on a vegan diet.
Its easy for those in hot countries with the best part of the year being sunny, here in the UK were lucky if we get the odd day here and there with sun at times. I was also low vitamin D at one point but that was mostly because of fat malabsorption issues and lack of sunlight.
