Just saying hello to all! :)
Just saying hello to all! :)
I finally got a picture up…lol…I hate taking pictures, as I don’t think I take very good ones right now… Anyway, that is my bird Peabody with me, i’ll post new pics when I start seeing results (hopefully for the better!).
I’m 42, mother to 2 (one step and one biological~both mine! :> ). I homeschooled my son until he hit 6th grade & now he goes to a ‘homeschoolers’ school 4 days a week. I have been on a SAD diet probably my whole life until recently, i’ve started incorperating more fruits and veggies into my meals… but I am unfortunately not raw at this point… My goal is to get healthier, slowly it seems! I am hoping to learn alot from this site as well as other venues on healthier living, I have the book The Detox Miracle Source Book by Robert Morse, ND ~ which I absolutely love! I found his site godsherbs.com about a year and half ago. I suffer from hypothyroid, but havent’ taken my synthroid in about 6 months now… I really want to do it naturally if possible. i’m just beginning to exercise (or doing stretching actually!), until my body can do more.I also have had panic attacks as far back as I can remember , and even though I don’t literally have them all day like when I was a kid, I still have times that they hit. I can’t be outside in the song for more than 15 minutes without breaking out with what i call bubble on my fingers that itch like crazy!
okay, i’ll stop talking for now…lol… i talk alot sometimes! I just wanted to say hi!
welcome :) Hang out here and absorb as much as you can, there is a great recipe section, try to make something. I do not have the hypothyroid problem but I have struggled with weight and depression for a long time and for the first time ever (I am 41 yrs old) I found something that makes me feel better, eating raw vegan food. I am losing the weight, my mood and outlook are better and for the first time in a long time I feel better and have hope. Cute bird btw and oh just so you know I don’t like being photographed either, deasmiles :)
Hey! Having us all here is like have a whole encyclopedia :) Welcome to just about the best website. Who is your buddy there ??
Welcome Christina! I have hypothyroid too, but now only use kelp to manage. I have been raw for almost a year now, but 100% raw for just a week today! Before that, I moved from 75% to 95% or so raw. But, I broke the coffee vice last week, and after an intense 2-3 day detox, I am free!
This website offers a lot of support, so I know when you go raw you will do great!
Hello, I wish you the best on your raw food journey. The bubbles on your fingers are those hives? I have noticed that my allergies are better when I am raw, but the spring season is the worst time for me.
Thanks to all that responded :) , sorry it took me a couple of days to respond ~ my work schedule has been crazy… Anyway, the ‘buddy’ in the picture with me is my pet bird Peabody, he’s great! The bubble on my fingers and sometimes i get them on my lower leg, the doctors that i’ve seen say they are allergies~ however, i have tried all over the counter medicines (which for me is not so good – as i hate to take medicine) have not worked… I have always gotten them in the spring and summer, the winter doesn’t seem to bother nor does fall? Hoping that changing my diet will be helpful (can’t hurt either!:>). *deasmiles~from what i can see in your photo, you are beautiful, thanks so much for your kind words! spiritedmama – how much kale do you use in a day? guesstimate is fine :)
I just had my first avacodo ~ they will be one of my ‘staples’ i’m sure, and i tried an orange today… i have had them lol, but while i was growing up they would always make me break out with cold sores? but today i had one while at work, so i’m watching to see.. i love them! Thanks again everyone! I’ll be posting when I can, and i’ll try to give updates. ~christina
Christina, I use kelp (a sea plant) to manage my hypothyroid…500-660 mg per day. I give a range because it depends on which gram of kelp I purchase. You can take it in conjuction with your exisiting meds if you need to, as it will not cause any ill effects. It has worked wonders for me.
