Kelp Noodles

Is anyone familiar with kelp noodles? I’ve had them a couple of times in a raw pad thai dish from Leaf Cuisine, a raw food restaurant in Los Angeles. I picked up the meal at my local health food market, but it’s really a simple dish. Rather than pay 6 bucks and change for a small portion, I’d like to make it myself. According to a manufacturer website (Sea Tangle) the noodles are really raw, just what you get from stripping away the green outside of a particular kind of kelp. The noodles have a nice chewy texture and neutral taste. Have any of yall tried them? Used them in recipes?

I tried sea spaghetti r (thongweed) recently and really like that. Also, grating or spiralizing zucchini is great with tomato sauce and a good sprinkling of kelp on top.

I eat the Sea Tangle kelp noodles all the time. also the mixed sea veggies. love these items…..definetly one of my favorite treat foods.

  • i also had them at leaf and they freaked me out the first time, but after i tasted them, they were good…

  • I finally found some in my local market, along with the sea vegetables. I’m going to try the noodles with some raw pasta sauce and in pad thai. Not sure what I’ll do with the veggies yet.
