Klamath Lake Blue Green Algae (*)

Ok please someone tell me that you have used this stuff before and have seen a difference. Personally I just picked up a small bag of it at my co-op for 3.68 and this stuff just doesn’t resonate with me.I usually am gun hoe about trying something new, but this one seems a little off the path for me. Anyone seen any benefits from it. This stuff is mad expensive.

never heard of it. i buy nutrex hawaii spirulina pacifica, and swanson chlorella.

My experiences are the same as “worleyhimself2” on both accounts.

  • It has done me wonders. Gives you energy, cleans the blood out (acted as a natural dialiser for my cat before we put him to sleep), and if you mix it with water, it will clean the colon out. Just be sure to get the enzyme enhanced one. You should keep taking it, it will really help you. :)

I started taking it recently and felt lots of changes, my hubby has too. But we’ve been 100% raw for 3 years. I don’t think that either of us would have been sensitive/clean/pure/whatever enough to feel the different before right now. Even 6 months ago I doubt we’d have felt it so strong as now.

Since we started using it our food intake has dropped massively – a good thing for us! The less I eat the better I feel and I can now just have a green smoothie and a salad and feel perfectly satisfied, this leaves my body with so much extra energy too. I have also had more of a detox going on with it too. After about 2 weeks on it I had a few days of heavy detox, I had been plateau ing for ages and ages. So I feel that it has got me to the next level in my rawness.

Fasting one day a week gives me the same benefits as the algae but I just haven’t been up for fasting lately – it has been a cruel cruel winter over here!!

Klamath Lake Blue Green Algae is the same as spirulina except that it is wild and spirulina is always farmed.

I don’t think that supplements are the be all and end all. And if you have access to decent organic food which I think you do, and sunshine and open spaces etc maybe you just don’t need it? I live in between two cities, the air is heavily polluted, the food I can get hold of is the best available to me, but not close to the kind of stuff you can get in the USA.

  • You RAWK ZOe thanks for that post I had in the car with the receipt ready to take it back. I think I will give it a try, but I was holding back because I know that spirulina is farmed. I have to give this a try just off of your post. Also it is so funny everytime that I leave the house my neighbors have these rose bushes that look like your pic for your profile and it always makes me think of you, hope that isn’t freaky I guess I am on here to much ..LOL

Thanks for the response to RAWCLAIRE

I will let you guys no how it comes out.

  • I started taking a tablespoon every day in my green shakes a few months ago and the difference is huge: more energy and more mental clarity. Maybe it’s the B12?

  • Nope, nothing to do with the B12. It’s the fact that it’s micronutrients (forgive my poor language, I’m only 12) that help digest the food and give alot of energy. :)

  • algae is not really a supplement, it’s a food. a great food for raw vegans, since it has super high protein and b12, and is generally very nutrient dense.

  • Well I just had my first 8oz glass of it with maybe half a tablespoon of the algae. I can say I felt a little something going on when I finish it maybe that was all in my head. I will continue with this small bag I have until it is finished. I will say this the best thing about it is that the co-op up the street sales it in different amounts instead of spending a fortune on it all at once.

  • You won’t feel the effect immediately, you’d have to take alot of it for days to feel the effect.

  • blue green algae is amazing. it has something like 50 times the amount of protein than beef is loaded with minerals and vitamins and of course that B-12 veggies lack. It is very cleansing to the system and helps deliver oxygen to the cells via the chlorophyll. Keep at it, most things usually take about a month to see a difference, it all depends on your body though.

I take some spirulina every morning. If taken with cilantro it’s a great way to remove any mercury you may have if you’ve ever eaten a lot of fish or have had silver fillings. One binds to the mercury and the other removes it from the cells.

  • Hi Ardesmond2. I’ve just started taking E3Live (which is supposed to be the best brand- purest, highest quality and flash frozen- Klamath Lake algae) so not sure yet about its effects, but I do know that Dr. Brian Clement from Hippocrates Health Institute in Florida recommends this for everyone and says it actually helps repair our bodies at the cellular and DNA levels. Fascinating if true! :)

  • Cool aspire well I have to say this; I was bed ridden all day with some what of a tummy ache for about 4 hours. Call it detox or whatever fits, but then after that I got up and felt very refreshed and clear minded. Hoping that tomorrow when I take it I don’t have the same episode. I saw the E3live but was very turned off its only a 7 day supply. That is just to pricey for my blood, I have never been into taking supplements.

  • ZoeZoe Raw Newbie

No that’s not freaky its funny – about the rose bush! I must upload a photo, am so lazy about stuff like that.

Supplements are expensive I’ve been experimenting and only a a couple of the things I have tried work for me. But it reduces our grocery bill so much because we are eating less, the money thing evens out.

  • UPDATE: E3 Live is something people should look into. This stuff really has impressed me. I won’t give the long run down so that you take a look for yourself, but it’s really worth the $$$

  • Luna bluLuna blu Raw Newbie

Oh gosh I totally agree with you ardesmond, I love E3 live! The chlorephyl content blows everything else out of the water! Gives me mounds of energy, but that might be a combo or E3 and eating raw. Any way, whatever works! :)

  • jenny2052jenny2052 Raw Newbie

Ardesmond and luna blu, I totally agree. E3 Live is the only thing I have ever taken that I could tell a difference immediately. Not in months, weeks, or even days – I felt a difference in about 20 minutes. It’s amazing stuff.

I’m glad you guys are raving about it, I just bought the klamath lake stuff too and was thinking to myself, did i just blow a bunch of money on a raw impulse like i do on those tasty raw cheesecakes?

i have the live enzyme one, i keep about a 1/4 cup in the fridge. how much are you supposed to take a day? i started with about a teaspoon a day or so ago, can’t say i’ve felt much…besides that the taste is quite nasty!

raw_chocoholic, your mercury cleanse sounds ineresting. how exactly do you take it? do you blend the spirulina and cilantro? should i blend my E3 with a cup of cilantro?

so, are we to assume that in nature we would have gotten this algae naturally swimming in lakes and streams? i couldn’t help but take a second raw food possibility look at the algae in the stream at sedona lol

  • kundalalitakundalalita Raw Newbie

oh yea, one more thing; nasty… yet i can’t get over how flipping BEAUTIFUL it is!!

  • jenny2052jenny2052 Raw Newbie

kundalalita, the taste is really mild if you mix it with grapefruit. I hand squeeze half a grapefruit and stir in a serving of algae and I don’t mind it at all. But one time I thought to give myself a “treat” and had it with OJ instead – to my surprise, it was totally gross. So I guess that something about the grapefruit flavor seems to mask the taste somehow? I’ve found that lemon water is ok in a pinch, but grapefruit is by far the best (IMHO).

    It is really beautiful!

  • kundalalitakundalalita Raw Newbie

thanks jenny! i’ll have to try that, even though i think grapefruit is nasty too LOL. I’ve been washing it down with raw Noni juice which is really strong and overrides the algae, and then i wash all that down with OJ. after oil pulling and occasional salt water cleanses, somehow i get through my morning lol.
