Lost to much weight!

Hello, I just started a RAW life style with my wife and I have lost to much weight! I’m 5’9 and I hover right around 135 to 140 non RAW, Since the change I have dropped to 123… Does anyone have any advice for an ectomorph? I know what foods have the most calories and fat content but it’s not quit working.

To give you a little back ground on my weight it took me two years to get to 170 pounds with under %5 body fat, and that took 6 meals a day! My calorie intake was on average 5-6k! No way I could keep that up even with cooked food.

I know some people will say “just be your self”, but I can’t fit into my clothes and if I lose any more weight I will be shopping in the young mens dept!

Thanks for listing and if anyone has some good tips I would love to hear them!

Cheers, Will

  • Will,

    What exactly are you eating right now?

    If I were you I would start eating more fats. Use coconut oil in your smoothies, make nut pates and other nut-based recipes, use oily salad dressings, eat 3-5 avocados/day, flax and hemp seed crackers, ect.

    Your body will even itself out naturally. You are probably detoxing, after you are done your body should normalize.

  • I am just a newbie and I am sure this won’t be that popular of a reply, but I would look into incorporating raw dairy. Raw goat milk or cheese.

  • eat when you are hungry and eat what feels right in your stomach. theres a huge misconception surrounding weight gain/loss and fat and calories. your body will find its natural weight after awhile as long as you are eating a good balance of foods and enough. weight, body fat %, muscle tone is mostly genetic. look at nature: cows eat primarily grass yet they have lots of bulky muscle. hyenas are carnivores – their diet is mostly fats and protein, yet they are skinny. check out the site “http://www.fruitarianfitness.com/home”;

    as lindaintheraw mentioned, your body will balance itself out. an example of this is when i went vegan. 235 down to 180 in a matter of months. my weight came back up and now hovers around 190~195. keep eating, starting lifting (if you are not already) and add high cal smoothies to increase your calories if needed.

  • Although I am know where as big as you. I am 6 foot 8 and dropped from 202 to 189 in 2 months. Most of that was fat, and it didnt seem like I lost a lot of muscle mass. But being so tall and getting skinnier scared me. I train in martial arts and weightlift everday, so it sucks seeing my body this skinny.

    But someone here told me to go to this website: www.thegardendiet.com. The man has been raw for over 30 years and a weightlifter/martial artist.

    From what I learned, most muscle on a meat diet, even on a vegan diet, are bigger than usual because of all the chemicals that you fill the muscles up with when you eat. So when you go raw, most of your muscles will look and feel smaller, because all those chemically built muscle are going back to its raw state. Once they are cleaned out, and your still continuing your muscle gain, they will become much stronger than they look, then they will start looking like they are as strong as they feel.

    This is my second month raw, but I feel my workouts have increased exponitially (sp?) and I am able to lift heavier weights and a higher rep. My muscles seem to be getting only a little bigger, but I can feel a strength I havent had ever.

    Once your weight evens out, itll take a while to gain that back up with the raw diet, but you should feel stronger even without those big muscles.

    My body is a very skinny ecto-morph, but I feel much stronger now than I did at my 200 lbs weight. I eat about 4000 cals a day without dinner. Dinner I leave it up to whatever I feel like. Its been working. I havent weighed myself in a while.

    Good luck, once again check out that website, he has been an inspiration to me.
