maca doesn't work for me?

I just bought a lot of maca powder, it's supposed to be strong. The lady told me to start off with a teaspoon and then I can work up to like a couple tablespoons?

Well.. I've taken more than a couple tablespoons and I don't feel much.

I guess the only reason why it gives people "energy" is because of it's strong spicy taste, which acts in a way to stimulate the body, and especially the sex organs. Almost all spicy foods and strong flavoured foods with a kick does the same.

It's not really a food....to me. I would eat some sweet fruit and see if you get energy, since that will have some calories and more nutrition. :)

Adaptogenic herbs are mild for most on the energy front. I think people assume it will be like a strong caffiene buzz, but most adaptogenic herbs are not CNS stimulants so there energy boost comes from supporting the adrenal glands and other factors like high vitamin B content.

But the spicy/stimulant isnt correct, macas alkaloids which support the adrenals glands are where the energy boost comes from. Just like the libido enhancing properties come from macas alkaloids supporting the endocrine system and balancing the hormones.

There is no need for tablespoon doses like you were instructed either.
