new, raw, and loving it!!

Hi everyone!!

I’m a 24 year old college Junior… and brand new (this is my second day) of being raw. I’ve begin at 75% or so raw, because it helps so much more. I go raw throughout the day and enjoy a normal dinner, still 80% raw there too!
I decided to go raw because my body was suffering from eating badly….white bread, pizza, candy, processed foods….. I felt the effects with a nightly stomach-ache, sluggishness, and just over-all awful feeling.

So after going on a raw grocery spree yesterday (fruits, veggies, spices, fish), I’m doing well so far!

hope I can make a lot of friends here :))))

    Welcome : )

  • Welcome Leoll!

I have been a vegetarian for almost 2 years, so I have been loving my veggies, but have really been weighing myself down with all the processed foods and breads. I am on day 4 of about 80% raw. There are some great recipies on this website, my taste buds have never been so alive! Good luck to you.

I really wish I’d have started eating better a lot younger than I did! Welcome and good luck on your journey!

  • thank you everyone for the warm welcome! :)

Since it’s only day 2…I can really feel my body craving that old crap (white breads, processed foods, etc)...and I’m trying my BEST to ignore it! I don’t want to mess this clean day up with a stupid binge of gross foods!

FISH???? Fish is really bad. In most cases, it is full of toxins because the water that it was caught or farmed in. Stuff like mercury and other toxic metals and many more. Even if it was clean meat, its Cholesterol.

  • Well, shgadwa, for a person who is slowly transitioning from SAD, I think fish is better than meat and poultry. Even tho I’m 75-90% raw, I’d have salmon (wild, King, not farmed), sashimi or ceviche once in a while. My body craves it and it feels good for me. And I think eating plenty of cilantro (and seaweed as a binder) will clean the mercury out.
