Hey guys, I'm new to the forum. I'm a full RawVegan and had a question about protein that's been buggin me. I am a weight-lifter and runner and swimmer and huge into all fitness related things. So naturally I'm very curious about this but, since Human's are meant to eat raw-vegan diets, we don't require as much WHOLE/complete proteins through dietary means as commonly believed right? We synthesize amino acids to form proteins right? We get plenty of AA's from veggies and fruits and grains, nuts, etc. So would it be fine for me to stick with just a pea protein powder or do I need a pea/rice blend to get the whole proteins?
hey, you dont need to combine at the same time more recent research shows that its what you eat over the day completes the protein etc.
saying that if you are weight lifting you do need additional protein post workout, so a pea protein, hemp seed, pumpkin seed protein powder, vega thrive which i like because it tastes good has additional goodies downside its more expensive but then again from my old weight lifting days its not much more expensive than other protein formulas. Back to my point ive weight lifted most of my life on a SAD diet and even eating masses of calories raw i wasnt recovering without additional protein, even taking in excess calories.
hopefully that answers your question:)
Thank you, thats what I suspected.
And I agree, vegan protein powders are expensive but just a few dollars more than standard whey protein formulas.
Is creatine vegan?
