I love raw foods and am in the process of going raw, so I've been trying to collect recipes lately and reading all the great information on this site and others. One question I have not seen an answer to is regarding the use of store bought "raw" nuts. Feel free to direct me if this has been covered in another thread.
I have read that real "raw" nuts are not likely found at your local grocer because in processing, they are either steamed or otherwise processed to kill the sprouting stage in order to reach the consumer as they are. In this case, when all I can find locally is so-called "raw" nuts, am I still getting the nutrients or should I plan to order real raw nuts from specialty sources? What do you use in your recipes?
