I posted this in my profile too…but here it is to introduce myself! I hope to find some other moms on here with preschoolers who can point me in the right direction! Here ya go…

I am a SAHM of two girls, 2.5 and 3.5yo who is fairly new to RAW foods.

I self-diagnosed my oldest daughter with food intolerances to gluten, soy, and dairy at 15 months (3 years ago). I then diagnosed my second daughter with the same allergies. I also found I, myself, am intolerant to these foods. After visiting a Naturopath, we also found we reacted to artificial food coloring and preservatives.

On top of that I noticed that I would become ill after eating some foods, like potatoes. Sometimes I would and sometimes I wouldn

  • Hi! what an amazing impact this has had on your girls. I am also from upstate NY and a mom of two toddler boys. I have been trying to encorporate raw foods into their diets. I have found that they both love raw corn on the cob, as a snack and with a meal. They also love fresh fruit like blueberries and strawberries and the old standby, bananas. I’ve been trying some of the cookie receipes made in the dehydrator, the Lemon Cookies has been a big hit: http://goneraw.com/recipes/148-Lemon-Cookies My biggest obstacle right now is that family watches the boys three to four days a week while my husband and I are at work, and they go out to eat a restaurants most of thoes days. I hate it but sometimes its hard to argue with free day care. So I try to make up for it with their dinners and on weekends. Maybe we could add a new catagory to the receipes to show which ones are “kid friendly”??

hi and welcome. i’m not a mom but a teacher so i live and breathe kids all day. :-)

I think you are doing your kids a huge favor with this. I see kids on all kinds of prescription drugs at their age due to things that could probably be helped with nutrition.

Hi Rawbie! Thanks for the info and link to the cookies. We will have to try them!

Bitt – I completely agree with you about the rx drugs. My kids act very “ADHD” when they get “contaminated” with one of their food allergens. It is awful to see and had a friend not helped me diagnose them with food allergies I am sure some doctor would have wanted to put them on ridelin or another drug.
