Raw Food Fridge!

Hi everyone!

I wanted to celebrate and share with you all my magnifent new refrigerator!

This weekend I cleaned it out, threw away all cooked food (except for a few things that will be for my guests, all hidden in a little drawer), and made my refrigerator replete with the color and nutrition of raw food!

Here's a link for your enjoyment

I tried accessing the link, but it says that it's unavailable. I'd love to see your raw food fridge! I also did that when I moved out on my own and it looks so nice & colorful :)

  • Can't see it without a Failbook account.

  • yum! I dream of having my fridge look like this. I can't wait to get a place of my own

OMG that looks like my fridge with all the cantaloupes AND I have the exact Brita as you too!

  • Lovely! If I had that stuff I'd eat all the fruit within two days! But what's this?.....

    NO GARLIC!!

How can you stock a fridge without garlic??!!!??!!?!!?!?!

Did you know fruit lasts longer at room temperature by the way? That includes chillis, tomatoes and cucumbers.

  • LOL, Deadly Steve. Actually, I put the garlic in the door--where I guess you normally put cheese. I have plenty of garlic! And yes I know about fruit lasting longer at room temperature, but I eat it up so quickly and I have very limitted counter space.

But isn't it BEAUTIFUL? I feel liberated since doing this! This was a major positive step in my raw food journey..and now I just LOVE raiding my refrigerator and certainly don't feel guilty.

You guys should post pictures of your refrigerators or counter space with raw food! I'd love to see!!

AVL--I LOVE canteloupes! I managed to find a great sale on them for 50 cents each! Can you believe that? And my dog loves canteloupes, too! I dropped a piece on the ground and she devoured it. Now she begs everytime I open one. And I love giving it to her, too! hehe raw food is so wonderful.

  • So beautiful!

I wish everybody would post pics of their fridge, it's so inspiring!

I'm not sure I can join in though, cause I'm "sharing" mine with a complete SAD eater. =)

Yeah, my fridge is like Jekyll and Hyde, half raw and half SAD! Haha! My BF isn't too bad I suppose but there's often a couple of chocolate bars, tons of cheese, and maybe a pizza or too. I do tend to take over the fridge with all my veggies and the counter is like a green grocers with all the fruit. Friends always comment on the amount of fruit I have stacked up in our kitchen. I love it!

there is way too much junk in my fridge to post a picture on a raw foods website!! it's filled with leftover pizza, cheese, eggs, lunch meat, milk, chinese food containers, cake, and butter (lots and lots of butta). i do put my boxes of spinach in their though- thank god for that. most of my stuff is on the kitchen table- 10 bunches of bananas, apples, oranges, melons, pineapple, and mangoes. i like all my fruit room temperature. i keep special stuff in the pantry like nuts, seeds, dates (love ma dates), tea, sundried tomatoes, and vanilla beans!

wow, that is really pretty! My fridge has a 10-pound box of barhi dates, a few giant bags of macintosh apples, a bag of navel oranges sometimes, macadamia nuts and walnuts, a bit of sprouts, lettuces, etc.

  • My collard greens, romaine, etc are in plastic bags in the fridge, the bags are tied at the top with a bunch of air inside. They seem to keep better, although the sprouts and soaked nuts are in plastic bags with the air sucked out, because they seem to last better that way. Does it work this way with you folks or does something else work better.

My fridge also has some things like half a small zuchini with alum foil wrapped around it and the same with a partially cut rutabaga.

    Best wishes, Gil

P.S. Just made some vegan ice cream with frozen bananas, apples, soaked cashews, almond milk and some ground-up nutmeg and cinnamon. It was really good.

  • it's gorgeous... just gorgeous... GLORIOUS even.
