I was in a horrible car wreck three years ago. I was hit by a drunk driver and ended up with two shattered disks and chronic back pain. I started raw foods (100 percent) two weeks ago upon the advice of my chiropractor/naturapath doctor. It was a last resort, honestly. I tried everyone – yoga, meditation, biofeedback, regular back “cracking” at the doc, hot springs, vitamins – you name it.
For the past three days, I have been 100 percent free of pain. I can’t believe it. I really can’t. I haven’t had a pain-free day in three years. Normally I can’t sleep, I toss and turn all night due to the pain. But I slept like a baby the last two nights.
I feel asleep at the wheel years ago and crash hard into a tree. I compressed my lower spine and was in a back brace for 8 months. Once I went raw the pain went away. I suffered ridiculous pain for 2 years and didnt take meds. and it just became the norm to feel like you are gonna die. I had pain all over especially in my upper shoulder blades. It was crippling.
WOW - that is fantastic – huge congrats to you! It’s funny – I have recently noticed that my back pain is drastically reduced – I have had intermittent back pain since my teens (nothing like yours – no accidents). I had been used to requiring regular chiro care (at least once a week) so I wasn’t in too much pain. I cannot believe how much better my back is now – and I’m not even 100% raw!! I haven’t been to the chiro in months. This way of eating is such a miracle. :)
worleyhimself, yay! That’s what happened to me, too. I honestly felt like I was going to die most days. It was incredibly debilitating. I never went the route of prescription meds, though I did carry a bottle of vicodin in my purse. Never had the guts to take it, though. My regular doctor was all about the medication, ugh. I’m glad I figured out that there are better ways.
Kendra – that rocks! I can’t get over how much improvement I have, too. I’m so glad your back is feeling better.
bitt, I hope and pray that your back has the same recovery as me. I am in shock, it surprised me so much. I am so grateful for this second chance at life. Your back sounds just like mine. :) Big hugs, honey.
This is so encouraging. I have noticed that when I'm faithfully raw my back pain dissappears. And of course if I add cooked foods in there it creeps right back up again. This is encouraging to stay in it and keep it up! Thank you.
