Sensitivity to cooked food (feel ill after eating)

I have been about 75% (sometimes 50%) raw. A few weeks ago, I had a hamburger and couldn’t believe how “groggy” I felt the next day. It was unlike anything I had ever felt. To top it off, I had the runs (sorry for being graphic) all day the next day and couldn’t be very far from the toilet at any time. That hamburger went straight through me! Day before yesterday, I had a turkey burger for dinner, and some lasagna w/ ground beef. Yesterday I felt “groggy & tired” and had night sweats, as well as a nice headache this morning. Has anyone else experienced these symptoms after eating cooked food? I’m blown away by my body’s reaction to food I used to eat all the time before going raw.

Oh, yes! It’s amazing, isn’t it? To see how your body reacts to cooked food, now. If I eat cooked food, especially cooked grains, my sinuses immediately fill and my headaches come crashing back. I get sleepy/sickish and ache all over. I used to feel like that all the time before raw, so I notice it much more if I’m “bad”. I can’t believe I lived like that most of my life.

I am OK with small bits of actual meat(although if do buy it, only local raised), but burgers don’t sit so well and definitely make me ill if I eat in combo with grains. I don’t do wheat!

I do notice a difference though, and it’s more motivation to eat more raw(also about 75% now)

  • Great topic. I experienced this this past weekend. I have been raw/high raw for only 2 weeks, and on Friday ate some pesto pasta, and shrimp for dinner. At about midnight, I woke up with horrible stomach cramps and had to vomit. I felt nauseous for most of the next day and had a mild headache all day Sunday. I was completely shocked to experience this sensitivity as I thought 2 weeks really isn’t that long. Thanks for starting this thread!
