OMG I just received my brand new Spirooli in the mail today and I was so excited to try it out. I made zucchini pasta, and it was SOOOOO COOOOOOOOL! I was so impressed with how the zucchini came out, some strands were amazingly long! Just thought I'd share with everyone :)

AVL- Where did you order it from and if you don't mind asking, how much did you pay?

KMcR- I go it on this website that my brother sent me

http://www.rawnutrition.ca/html/spiral_slicer.html

The Spirooli cost $49.99 + tax + shipping, which came out to a price in the low 60s (I can't remember the exact price). I ordered it on Monday and it got here today, so it was pretty quick. I haven't tried all the blades yet, just the one with the smallest holes, which made the zucchini spaghetti. I kept making more and more and more, I ate 5 zucchini tonight (plus other stuff)!

joannabanana- I'm pretty broke too, but I put it on my Visa (which I never use), so I won't know how broke I am until next month!!!

I used to use a veggie peeler too, but I thought that I would invest in something a little better, and boy does it make a difference. Today at lunch my coworker was so amazed to see my zucchini spaghetti :)

oh i'm jelous! When I first went raw I invested in a more expensive spiraliser in the UK (thinking it was good), but it doesn't make the courgette fine enough, it's like thick linguini rather than the yummy looking spaghetti strands I see in recipes. I regret buying it and prefer to just peel my veg now rather than use and then wash it. It's so important to buy a good one like the spirooli to get the right effect. I'm glad you're enjoying your new gadget AVL! :)

I have had GREAT results with a $20 saladacco spiralizer for years now. I have 2 of them. Even make pasta for crowds.
Would upgrade to spirouli if I knew it was as easy to assemble and clean.

They're a rip off in the UK - mine was £30 (= more than that in dollars)! In fact everything seems to be cheaper in America.

American Yogini, the Spirooli is not that hard to clean and not all at hard to assembly. Hey, you are talking to a person who can't even assemble Kinder Surprise toys! The only tricky parts to clean are the blades, but I'm sure it's the same thing with the Saladacco. But I think that you can put them in the dishwasher.

I've been researching the spirooli etc. and can't decide which one to get, plus the models seem slightly different here in the UK....also: can you use the saladacco spiral slicer to make zucchini noodles? I can't figure out from the pictures I've seen how that one works.

A bit off topic but anyway: kitchen equipment such as blender, dehydrator etc. seems more expensive in the UK when you convert the $ etc. but I find the actual food ( produce, supplements, nuts, etc. ) is cheaper in the UK.
I've lived in the US for over 7 years, just relocated two years ago and have been back to visit family several times and each time I was stunned at how expensive vegetables, fruit etc. are (I was mostly eating SAD when I lived there and have turned vegetarian/vegan/raw (in that order) since then).

Just got mine and I AM HOOKED! Super easy to master, assemble, use, disassemble and clean. I did carrots and zucchini noodles. The texture will alleviate some boredom and make for fun sharing with others. YUM! Highly recommend!!! I got mine from Amazon for $37 plus shipping.

I love mine too! I use it everyday. But I was wonderning if anyone had a good suggestion on how to clean the "teeth" that hold the vegetable? I find that there is always some residue that I can't get off.

I'll be receiving my "World Cuisine Tri-Blade" in the mail today!!! I can hardly wait! I've been craving Zucc. pasta and pesto. I also just came across a really fantastic Pistachio-Pesto recipe. I'll post that in the recipes forum for those interested

hi AVL,
you may find it helpful to use a scrub brush, just with a little soap under running water to clean the "teeth" and blades.
I use a long handled one, or a nail brush.

this site has a great price for anyone looking to buy one

happy spiralizing everyone!

I clean mine with a toothbrush, which is very handy in the kitchen for all sorts of things - juicer, food processor blade, mason jar threads, etc.
