I don't really do steam baths (though my husband seems to enjoy them). I do know they can be bad for people with certain health conditions such as high blood pressure. Maybe I shouldn't say bad- but that you need to be more cautious.
Otherwise, it may be similar to saunas (a dry heat). I've often heard about 15 min as a safe amount. If you feel dizzy, definately get out sooner. Don't drink alcohol (if you do) while steam bathing either.
I love steam rooms and saunas! I usually stay in for 20-30 mins and drink a lot of water whilst I'm in there. I try to steam my face once a week to open my pores, too.
I love steam baths.
I love to sit and meditate for maybe 20-30 minutes depending on my mood.
One thing I always make sure to do is make sure my skin doesnt dry out after im done.

I also am a fan of steam rooms and saunas. I meditate whilst in there, it's incredibly relaxing.
There should be instructions on the wall outside the steam room.
As soon as you start feeling that you have to leave, leave.
I usually stay in there for around 45 minutes.
