Storage containers

Can anybody recommend any good storage containers to use? I want to get 6-8 cereal type containers, but all the ones I see are either expensive, or cheap and emit a horrible plastic smell. I'm just looking to use them for dry ingredients.

I use glass canning jars for dry food storage.
You can buy them by the case from hardware stores, most larger grocers, and online.
