SYRACUSE RAW

Hi Everyone! I just got back from a week long vacation… i ended up taking a raw class while i was away. I sat there thinking “i can do this”... so, i’m thinking about getting certified as a raw instructor, but i’m a little hesitant only because I live in an area where people are not that receptive to my lifestyle. So, i was wondering if there are any other people on here from the Syracuse area and if they’d be interested in taking a raw food class. The class basically consists of learning techniques, verbage, tools… creating a few recipes and then sampling everything. I’ve been sitting here thinking about different meal plans/themes and how much fun this would be. I’ve been 100% raw for about 6 months or so but about 95% raw for a year now. I love this lifestyle! Please let me know what you think!!!

I’m assuming there’s no one near syracuse on here :)

I think Alyssa Cohen certifies people. A great thing would be to hook up with a Naturopath, who can send you people. I send people to one of Alyssa’s raw food chefs here in the Atlanta area. One of my patients found her and I’ve been keeping her busy ever since. She gets them started on the basice, gives them resources for buying equipment, shops the Farmer’s Market with them…whatever they are needing. She charges about $25/hour, which i think is excellent. I don’t live at all near you, but I have raw lunches from time to time for friends that are interested.

Thank you :) Yes, I’m researching different places that certify… I’ve been trying to find a Naturopath near me, but i haven’t had much luck! Next time I’m at my natural foods store, i’ll inquire with someone there – you never know! Thanks for your suggestions!

Dont feel alone. There are a lot of loners out here. I live on the North West coast and I jump for joy when I hear of a raw person living just a hundred miles from me.WOW!

Beany – thanks :) It’s frustrating being the only one in a certain area! I went to a messeuse today and told her about it and she told me i should open a restaurant! I think there are healht conscious people out there who eat a lot of raw, but aren’t strictly raw. They’re just not on this site :) Oh well!
