Trip to Tuscany

JoyceHJoyceH Raw Newbie

Hello to those in Italy!! I will be taking a holiday to Italy with my husband and another couple this May (We fly out of Logan on May 7). We’ll be staying a couple days in Rome then heading up to Tuscany between Sienna and Florence. I put the link below to show exactly where we’ll be staying. Click on the British flag for an English translation.

My plan is to definetly stay vegetarian but I know it may be hard to stay away from cheese. I’m hoping to eat as many fresh, raw fruits and veggies as I can but I know that I will end up eating cooked food which is fine. I actually look forward to authentic Tuscan food! That being said, I’d love any suggestions for raw food if it’s available in the area. Anyone live in Tuscany?

I live in Bergamo, a couple hour’s drive north. I’ll be in Tuscany next month for a long weekend with friends. Raw foodism isn’t exactly known about here, but you’ll find wonderful produce and food in general. Make sure you take home some Tuscan extra virgin olive oil (double-bagged). There aren’t any raw restaurants, but you’ll always find something raw on the menu (if only a salad). Breakfasts are a nightmare here – only pastries! So stock up on fresh fruit for breakfast!! Write to me for more info if you want – my email’s in my profile. If you want a healthfood store, look for Naturas
