  • I don’t think gas is a result of detox. Reduce the intake of seeds/nuts/legumes(lentils/chickpeas/beans etc). Also soak/sprout them before you consume.

    I had massive gas and really bad gas too, it was the beginning of detox for me, then it was very loose bm’s, very bad bloating and nausea. Eventually as I ate clean greens and fruit a few bouts with more nausea, bloating, gas, and more unpleasantness I started to heal and then thrive!   • NUTS! very common for newbie rawies… :) when i first went raw my gas was sooo bad. then i became very educated about nuts, how to use them more properly, etc etc. I have never learned so much about food till I went raw…

    I had the same problem – really bad putrid gas. Extremely embarrassing!

    Start taking digestive enzymes, one with each main meal.This should clear the gas up within a few days. I started taking digestive enzymes a few weeks ago and haven’t had gas since.

  • Once I was raw, I actually noticed that I had much less gas than I previously had on my cooked vegan diet. Now, every once in a while if I eat any cooked food, I feel gassy again.

    It sounds to me like sugary foods, fruits, are fermenting in your gut. Taking enzymes, digestive and probiotic, is a good idea.
