Rich and satisfying, this is sure to curb your sweet tooth!
1½ cup Walnuts
1½ cup Raisins (sulphite-free)
½ cup Cacao powder
dash of cinnamon
pinch of sea salt
Combine all ingredients in a food processor and blend until smooth and balled up. Remove from bowl and press into square or round glass dish – alternatively you can shape into one large square with your hands. Freeze until firm, then slice. This may be kept refrigerated or frozen.
I wish I could take credit for this recipe, but it’s from therawtable.com!
the best!!! i added some dried figs too.mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!
Thank you!! I made this today, and they where very excellent, espeshly made me happy since they tasted way better from one of the missed chocolate raisen candy i used to eat when i was a kid
I made this last night but used some nibs as well as powder. I also used dried cranberries instead of raisins and added some raw honey. Then I added a bit of water and some coconut oil because my blender sucks, lol. It turned out not as rich, maybe I will leave out the water next time. I topped it with cacao nibs and dried cranberries.
Thanks so much for this recipe!
Fabulous!! this is great stuff. Defiantly helped with the chocolate cravings
thanks a bunch
oh my this is delishous
Is Cacao bitter? I would love to make this for my book club members! It looks very tasty.
These are great! And there so easy, even my young kids can make them. That's a huge plus around here. Thanks!!
RawKidChef: Raisins (or dates) blended with cacao powder makes a great fudge--you don't need a nut substitute, but you may need to adjust the proportions
I just made this, it's perfect! I did have to substitute a few dates for part of the raisins, because I didn't have enough. What I wanted to share was how I formed it. I put it into 4 miniature loaf pans, they're about 3 x 5 or so. Then I was able to slice it into thin slices, thank you for posting this recipe.
I don't digest buckwheat groats. I got creative and a mix of purple corn flour and raw cacao butter would work great I think.
Maybe try some dehydrated zucchini and you can make it into chocolate zucchini bread squares... or maybe some dehydrated banana's and it would be more like banana chocoloate chip cake :)
I made this today, but I used raw pecans instead. Delish!
great to have something without too much sweetners. thanks! good option, for sure.
mmmm i've been on a raisin kick lately so this sounds great.
By the way Kathy, these looks really scrumptious!
Hi Raw Kid Chef, why don't you try Buckwheat Groats?
Kathy, awesome. I just made it. I used cacao nibs and powdered them in the coffee grinder. I also cut the recipe into thirds. I wanted to make a small amount to be sure I liked it.....well, I love it.!!! OMG. Now, when I go out, I can put some in a plastic container and have my own candy bar....even when I go to the movies.
Thanks for sharing!!
Hmm, I can't think of any substitutes that aren't nuts, seeds, or grains.. you'd have to get pretty creative! But please let me know if you find something! It would be nice to lighten this up a bit without the nuts.
Could I substitute something for the walnuts? (something not a nut, seed, or grain) Thanks I know there aren't many options.
That looks absolutely beautiful!
