Quiora,

I get all of my coconut oil from http://www.wildernessfamilynaturals.com. I don't buy artisana because it's not worth the price to me and their product is a bit controversial. Wilderness Family Naturals carries centrifuged oil, which is totally raw and the another type that is made via chemical process the traditional thai way. I buy the centrifuged. Here's the link. http://wildernessfamilynaturals.com/virgin_coconut_oil_centrifug...

One more thing. I have tried atleast five different coconut oils from different vendors. A few of them made me gag. The nice thing about WFN Coconut Oil is that it is totally yummy. I actually did a spoon test with my Mum and let her try one and then a competitive one. The WFN oill is her favorite and I had to order her some lest she take my whole gallon jar. Anyway, that's my two cents. WFN has lots of other raw foods too. They're very raw food friendly and carry great oils, nuts, cacao, etc.

Peace,

Marcos

You all are too much, I love it. I haven't tried liquid maca Caleb but I have a great organic powder that works wonders. Wow, I see a lot of people are using a teaspoon at a time - my package says 1 tablspoon/5grams is a serving... I wonder if I'm taking a lot at once and that's why I'm reacting so uppity from it!?

It used to be coconut oil and coconut butter were the same thing. Then Artisana came out with their version of coconut butter ground from whole coconut. I just learned the other day realrawfood.com has coconut butter as well, also ground from whole coconut. So the definition has shifted somewhat, and there is some confusion.

The feeling I get is companies that make coconut oil only will start to use the term coconut oil exclusively, and refrain from using the term coconut butter in order to avoid any further confusion. :)

Exactly the breakfast I need. I never dared put maca with greens, but this really does look perfect. I feel I'm gonna have a super-cala-raw-alicious-ex-pe-ala-docious day tomorrw, thanks to you :)

*Quiora* - A good source for coconut butter (and maca powder, among other yummy things) is www.iherb.com. Great prices, selection and fast delivery - at least in my experience. Also, the smoothie sounds delish and similar to my morning maca powerhouse! I'm not up to a tablespoon of it, but a teaspoon does wonders for me. Thanks, Raw Dance! :)

This smoothie is so beautifully GREEN! Thanks for the idea :)

FYI the coconut "butter" definition is different depending who you talk to, so both explanations are correct. :)

Coconut oil is the pure oil of the coconut and coconut butter is the oil and meat combined. I love the Artisana brand of raw coconut butter. It is wonderful stuff!

Looks good. I have all the ingredients so I will try this one. By the way txinchin, I use to think that coconut butter and oil were one and the same, but I have both and the coconut butter is made with both the oil and the flesh of the coconut. Just thought you may be interested.

Dear Quiora,
Coconut oil and coconut butter are the same thing. Lucky you! Once coconut oil is colder than room temperature, it becomes hard and you have coconut butter!

I get my coconut butter from Whole Foods, if your in the states, and I pay $10 for a jar I believe is a pound. I would really recommend this product in particular, I stopped buying it because I can't stop eating it!

Maca powder eh? I have some in liquid format. What is the difference? I am new to raw so have no clue.

Always looking for more Maca recipes as I haven't really seen any changes on it and my smoothies taste a little off with it in there. I'm going to try this one.

Do you buy your coconut butter or make it by mixing coconut and oil? I'd like to find somewhere I can buy it because my food processor sucks. This sounds really good BTW, I've been in a rut with my smoothie making and craving something tropical! I think pineapple would also be a good addition to this!
