Almond Raisin Applesauce/Spread
It’s simple, but I hope you like this little snack I either eat like applesauce, or as a spread. The raisins are plenty sweet enough for me, and the whole thing evokes lovely peanut butter and jelly memories (although I like this much better it’s still a nice memory trigger that makes me smile).
1 cup apple sauce
¼ cup almond meal flour or almond butter
¼ cup
raisins
1 dash cinnamon
I recommend blending all together if using as a spread, or just stirring and eating like apple sauce.
NOTE on almonds: I used to use the leftover almond meal from making almond milk from soaked raw almonds. After the shock of over-reaching almond pasteurization, I’ve become confused and haven’t started buying all my almonds online from raw sources, but this is still how I recommend this recipe. Although I think almond butter is a bit more palatable, it can be harder to digest/absorb for some and almond meal is easier to digest. Plus, be sure your almond butter is truly raw.
