I wanted a chocolate shake with nothing in it to taint the flavor of chocolate. I also didn't have my chia seeds for the day. Gotta get in those omega-3s! This is what I came up with. Simple and yum. If you want it really chocolaty, add more cacao powder. You could always use raw nut milk in place of the water. That...

Recipe Directions

1. Let the chia seeds and water get to know each other by letting them sit in your blender for a few minutes while you get everything else together. This will make a gelly consistency.

2. Throw everything in the blender and blend for a minute or so. You might want to add more water to get everything going.

You could always use raw nut milk in place of the water. That would be double yum!

Chocolate Chia Shake
3
3 out of 5

I made it without the ice, and just used a shaker cup (I didn't want to be forever scraping the chia seeds out of my blender!) and let it sit 5 minutes. It's gooey and I needed a spoon, but it's not half bad. :)

And I also used a little cinnamon, because I like it! :)

I love this recipe! I added a few things and froze it in popsicle molds. I added lucuma and mesquite to help sweeten. I am trying to cut way back on sugars. I used a combination of dates and stevia too. Dee-licious. Thank you for the great idea!
