I can't believe how satisfying and comforting this soup was. I didn't have hing so I used a clove of garlic and put in 2 tbsp of nutritional yeast and some flax oil and heated gently - and it was yummy! I will keep this in my repertoire of favorite recipes.
I loosely followed this recipe ..and i loved it! thank you for the wonderful idea! yum
I did it without these two today and it was a tiny little bit bitter, but tasty apart from that. what could I do to take the bitterness out? :)
is there any good way to substitute the yeast and the hing in this recipe? I can't seem to get either in my local stores...
This sounds fabulous! I can't wait to try this! Thanx for posting!
Hing is a spice very commonly used in east indian cooking. It is made of a resin aka asefoteida (sp?). It gives a flavour that resembles onions.
what is "hing?"
