Is the 10oz of spinach a measure of volume or weight?

this stuff is like crack. instead of nutritional yeast, i used 1/3 cup pumpkin seeds and 1/3 cup pinenuts to add that cheesy flavor. it's ridiculously good though and i can't wait to serve it to everyone for easter.

I just made this and it is just as good, if not better, than any spinach dip I've tried! Amazing! I added a bit of artichoke heart to make it a spinach & artichoke dip. Love it! Thank you for sharing the recipe!

We use a Blendtec blender that smoothes it out well. Other blenders might not do so well, however.

You certainly can omit the nutritional flakes. It will taste a little different. But I am sure it will be good.

Mine is solidifying in the fridge right now! I used a whole avocado and 1/4 cup hemp oil. I also doubled the nutritonal flakes for a little bit thicker consistency. Don't know how it tastes yet but it sure looks good:)

Hi! I made this for my daughter's 3rd birthday party, and everyone really enjoyed it. It was the 'something different' appetizer, and even those who are used to creamy spinach dip loved it. It has the right balance of all the flavors. Nothing overwhelms the other players. Thanks for sharing, and yes, we just may make it into an entire meal! (Judging by the amount my husband scoops onto crackers...).

Never thought about putting 'em in my car to dehydrate - I live in Southern California and it's blazing right now so that plan just may work! Thanks!

I just didn't know the purpose of the dehydration for the sake of the recipe ; )

14. Glittergirl -- This thread

Submitted by emtpdmom on May 15, 2009 - 6:29pm.

Glittergirl -- This thread gives some information on why soaking is helpful as well as some links to more information. If dehydrated at the right temperature I think they are still technically raw. http://www.goneraw.com/forum/soaking-and-sprouting-help

I don't have a fancy dehydrator yet, just an inexpensive WalMart variety (a round one). It works fine for nuts and seeds . . . takes a bit longer, but is worth it to me. I just use unbleached paper towels to keep smaller seeds from falling through.

Another idea, considering where you live, would be to dehydrate nuts on the dashboard or in the back windshield of the car. It's warm enough right now in your area of the country to dry nuts and seeds. You'd probably want to use an oven thermometer to be sure you don't "cook" them. I've done a little dehydrating that way when visiting in sunny Florida.

I'm anxious to try this but, for the nuts... Soaked and dehydrated? Why not just use them raw? I don't have a dehydrator that's why I ask ; )

19. Made spinach dip this

Submitted by carrothuff on April 14, 2009 - 5:15pm.

Made spinach dip this evening. I have a habit of making just enough for myself, because I am the only raw eater in the family. However, I need to break this habit, or stop giving out samples! It was a hit and yes, it was a little gritty, but after adding the onion and spinach it really didn't matter much. It really does need to be refrigerated before eating. My consistency was fine, it just wasn't as delicious room temp. Thanks a bunch!

This looks amazing but doesn't the almond pulp make it gritty?
