Makes 16ozThis recipe is from The New Soul Vegetarian Cookbook. My sister-in-law gave it to me. I make this drink whenever anyone has the slightest sign of a cold. The ginger BURNS! But your cold disappears. I am starting to make it daily now, with less ginger, since I noticed that an increase in my ginger intake has been clearing out my sinuses!
Ingredients:
2 pieces fresh gingerroot
1 cup pineapple cubes
1 orange, (juiced)
1/2 cup ice
1/3 cup pure maple syrup
1 tsp ground nutmeg
Preparation:
1. Juice the ginger. Each piece is about 6 inches long. (Mine have been much smaller, more like 2 inches each); peeling is optional.
2. Combine all the ingredients in a blender and process until smooth.
3. Enjoy!

Sorry about that! I messed up when typing in the recipe! It WAS a misprint on the maple syrup! It is only 1/3 cup!

I rarely get colds, but whenever I've felt sinusy (is that a word? hehehe) or even just out of sorts I've made a concoction of lemon, honey, ginger and cayenne in hot water... works like a charm. This one sounds great too!

That was my first response too - 1 cup?? Seriously? I mean, the combo of flavors sounds great and I definitely want to try it. But that HAS to be a misprint, right?
