HAWAIIAN TERIYAKI ALMONDS
These almonds are sweet & spicy! When craving Chinese Food, this is what i make :) I love the Teriyaki flavoring!
1 cup ALMONDS, SOAKED FOR 2 DAYS
1 slice PINEAPPLE
¼ cup PIINEAPPLE JUICE, ADJUST FOR
SWEETNESS
2 tablespoon CHICK PEA OR MELLOW WHITE MISO
2 DATES, SOAKED
2 clove GARLIC
¼ teaspoon CAYENNE PEPPER, ADJUST FOR SPICINESS
In a food processor, process all of the above ingredients except for almonds. After draining and rinsing your almonds, shake off excess water. Put in a bowl and coat with this mixture. Place almonds and gooey juice onto a Teflex sheet in your dehydrator. Dehydrate for atleast 1 day – if they last that long :)
These measurements are estimates… but fairly accurate. If you want spicier almonds, then put less of the pineapple ring in. I’d start with a 1/4 of the ring and add from there. Use more cayenne if that’s what you like ;)

No, you can eat it the way it is... the mixture is gooey and thick. When you dehydrate it becomes chewy and a little hard - very nice texture when done dehydrating. I usually start snacking on them only a few hours into dehydration.
123: Yeah, i've thought about putting this on other things too - like a Hawaiin Pizza or some sprouts and broccoli slaw.... I'm sure it will be great in the summer too!

What is like before you put it in the dehydrator? Texture, taste? I guess what I'm asking is...is the dehydrating really necessary for it to be edible?:) It sounds delicious.

Outstanding recipe! The sauce would be good on other things too. This is going into my recipe box.
