Laver Chowder

Servings:
2 to 3it kind of reminds me of clam chowder. without the clams. i suppose if you wanted something like clam chowder you could make this with mushrooms in it.
Ingredients:
2 oz. dried laver
3 cups celery juice
1 cup raw, organic pine nuts, soaked 24
hours
2 to 3 cloves garlic
1/4 cup fresh organic lemon juice
Preparation:
in a medium bowl, soak the seaweed for 15 to 60 minutes. i actaully forgot to do this the first tim i made this and it came out really seaweedy. i imagine you could soak the seaweed in some sort of juice, if you wanted to influence the flavor in a certain direction.
drain the seaweed and transfer to a bowl.
in a blender or food processor combine the celery juice, pine nuts, garlic, and lemon juice. blend thoroughly.
i warmed this up. you don't have to.

sure almonds would probably work. why do you hate pine nuts? something i should know? i think that's the same kind of laver i used. i too attempted to snack on it. yuck. try the chowder. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4eYSpIz2FjU
5. Sounds interesting....I hate
Sounds interesting....I hate pine nuts with a passion so I will probably use almonds, though. This is funny because I just bought a bag of Maine Sea Coast Laver the other day and tried to snack on it but it was too chewy, so a recipe including it is probably better suited to this type of seaweed.
