My Liver is Strong
Perfect drink for your lovely liver! You can purchase whole, organic raw milk thistle seeds here at http://www.rawguru.com/store. We also carry a wonderful supplement by Health Force Nutritionals specifically geared for liver support called Liver Rescue II + milk thistle, which also contains artichoke extract and dandelion root for further liver support. I thought it was the perfect time to write about milk thistle, as Spring is upon us, and the body goes through a natural cleansing cycle at the turn of the seasons.
4 Cups pure Water
1 Cup almonds (soaked and sprouted ideally)
1/4 Cup Hemp nuts
2
Tbs ground milk thistle seeds
1/2 of a whole Tahitian vanilla bean
1- 2 spoonfuls Warrior Food - vanilla enhanced (optional protein boost)
1 tsp- 2 tbs Merlins Herbal Magic Roots Elixir powder (dosage is up to
you)
1-2 Tbs raw, wildcrafted Honey
3 tsp raw, wildcrafted bee pollen
Pinch of Himalayan or Celtic salt
Blend almonds, hemp nuts, milk thistle powder and whole vanilla bean with water and strain through a Nut Milk Bag. Rinse blender and place ilk back into blender adding to it remaining ingredients. Blend well and enjoy!
I like adding the Merlins Herbal Elixir to this milk as it contains even more fabulous adaptagenic herbs that will also support the liver and hormones, and general well being) such as shizandra berries, nettles, anise seed, astragalus root,
burdock, and the list goes on. It also has a great flavor. Soaking and sprouting the almonds will start their germination process and make them easier for the body to digest, putting less strain on the liver. I use hemp nuts in this milk too, not only to add a delicious creaminess, but because they too are
easy for the body to digest and
contain valuable omega 3 fatty acids.
