Serves up to 6, depending on size of glassThis is a light, delicious drink to enjoy on a beautiful summer day! I wish I had a picture to share, it is pretty too, especially with a little pineapple and basil as garnish!
Ingredients:
1 Pineapple, chopped
1 small bunch of basil, torn
water
Preparation:
Place pineapple and basil in blender. Add water to make the consistency that you would like for the drink. For a thicker drink, use less water, for a thinner drink, use more. I started out with 2 cups of water for my family of four.

Mm, had this for breakfast this morning. Such a simple, easy recipe for busy and rushed mornings! I like my smoothies thick, so I added just a little bit of water. I didn't really like the texture though--it wasn't really smooth (I'm picky about my smoothies ><), so next time I would add more water. I've never added fresh basil to my smoothies before, so I had no idea of what to expect. It was actually a very interesting flavour--sweetness of the pineapple balanced out with the zing of the basil...most beautiful! Lovely yellow with crisp green specks! Raw food is so pretty..

Do you mean a Suribachi, which is like a large mortar and pestle except the bowl has lots of ridges?

Pineapple and basil makes a wonderful combination! Try to crunch it in this kind of bowl made of stone or wood with a stick (I have no idea what it is called in english!) and spread it on pieces of pineapple - it makes a lovely and simple snack!

Sounds like it would be great juiced, too!
