Man! What a great potato chip replacer! Watching the game has never been this healthy!

Recipe Directions

1. Thinly slice sweet potato or yam. Add cinnamon, pepper, salt, and lemon juice to taste. This also benefits from some tasty tahini.

2. Dehydrate for 3 hours.

Hi Laurajean - both, yes, please experiment with various (i use a lot of thyme and marjoram) seasoned and plain yam slice "chips" also both dehydrator and fresh sliced. I dip the chips. nanamensah recipe for tahini is unbeatable:

Ingredients

* ¾ cup raw sesame seeds, black or white, soaked in enough water to cover them, for about 30-40 minutes

* filtered water

* 2 tablespoons olive oil

* pinch sea salt

my version adds - 2 cloves garlic, 1/2 small "arbol" or hot, pepper (sub red pepper flakes) wow - i luv this stuff

Preparation

Blend soaked sesame seeds, with their water, olive oil and salt. Add filtered water until the tahini has reached the desired consistency. It is ready now for any recipe calling for tahini. If you plan to use it for a sweet recipe, omit the salt. If you have cold pressed sesame oil, use that instead of the olive oil.

drhall, do you use plain or seasoned your dehydrated yam chips? Do you dip the chips in the caramel and hot tahini or do you dehydrate on the chips? What is the hot tahini recipe?

Hi Raw - yes,Caramel is Raw & Ready!, I am a very big fan of this recipe! see pg.2 of GoneRaw recipes.

* ½ cup medjool dates, stoned and soaked

* ½ cup brazil nuts

* reserved date soak water

* dash salt

* vanilla extract, optional

Preparation

Depending upon your kitchen tools you may want to powder the nuts first otherwise: blend (or in magic bullet) the dates, nuts, salt and a few splashed of reserved soak water, adding more when necessary.

Greenmojo - this can be very addictive! loving additional coconutbutter/whipped by renoir on these too. we may start a 'sweet'potato cult thang here!
