Savory Caribbean Mango appetizer
If you have a craving for something tangy, salty and yet completely juicy and satisfying…try this treat. Serve it as an appetizer, make it with more mangoes and eat it as a savory fruit salad.
1 Mango slightly underripe, Diced
3 sundried tomatoes, sliced and diced
sprinkle sea salt
1 juice of 1 lime
dash hot sauce
Dice the mango, put the diced sun dried tomato on the mango in a dish,
sprinkle salt on the mango and sun dried tomato. Sprinkle the lime juice on the mango and tomato mix and pour a dash of hot sauce on the mixture.
Enjoy, this is sweet, savory,salty and juicy all at once. In Washington DC where I hail from in the latin area of Mount Pleasant and Adams Morgan on Saturdays the salvadorean vendors sell these in little sandwich baggies. Minus the sundried tomato and it was a heavenly taste of home for me today. Mmmm mmmm good :)
